Mouse acceleration is detrimental to shooter games, and Marvel Rivals is no exception. The game inexplicably enables mouse acceleration by default, lacking an in-game toggle. This guide explains how to disable it.
Because the game lacks an in-game option, you must manually adjust a configuration file. Follow these steps:
%localappdata%
and press Enter.[/Script/Engine.InputSettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
bViewAccelerationEnabled=False
This disables mouse acceleration within Marvel Rivals. For optimal results, also disable mouse acceleration in Windows:
Mouse acceleration dynamically adjusts sensitivity based on mouse movement speed. Fast movements result in high sensitivity, slow movements in low sensitivity. While convenient for general use, this inconsistency is disastrous for shooters. Consistent sensitivity is crucial for building muscle memory and improving aim. Mouse acceleration prevents this muscle memory development by constantly altering sensitivity.
With mouse acceleration disabled, you'll enjoy improved aim and a more responsive gaming experience in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
