"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"

by Allison May 27,2025

The highly anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the accessibility features coming to the updated version of the game. One of the standout options is the ability to slow down Game Speed during intense moments, which can be adjusted from 100% to as low as 25%. According to Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, this feature is designed to assist players who may find themselves overwhelmed, especially when facing the game's notorious Freaker hordes. With the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this accessibility option aims to make the unique combat experience more inclusive.

In addition to Game Speed adjustments, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility enhancements. Players can look forward to customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode tailored to their needs, UI Narration for better navigation, and Collectible Audio Cues to help locate items more easily. The auto-complete QTE option, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

While these features are set to debut in Days Gone Remastered, Bend Studio has confirmed that most will also be implemented in the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller to fully utilize.

Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising not only enhanced accessibility but also an improved photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. This remaster of the 2019 biker-centric, post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Fans who already own the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10, making it an affordable way to experience the game with all its new enhancements.
