Mortal Kombat 1 Data Reveals Possible Quitality Animations

by Benjamin Dec 19,2025

A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has discovered compelling evidence suggesting the brutal fighter will introduce Hara-Kiri Fatalities as Quitalities.

Reddit user InfiniteNightZ shared footage showcasing what appears to be Hara-Kiri Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1. First introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004), these finishing moves allow defeated players to perform self-inflicted Fatalities.

Notably, InfiniteNightZ uncovered Hara-Kiri animations for recent DLC fighters like Ghostface, fueling speculation these may debut in a future update rather than being scrapped. "Since they're adding it to downloadable characters, implementation seems likely," InfiniteNightZ remarked.

The dataminer theorized these animations may function as Quitalities - instant finishers triggered when quitting multiplayer matches, referencing game code terminology. "They're labeled as Quitalities, so there's still potential," they noted.

Following this discovery, prominent dataminer Interloko identified additional Hara-Kiri animations.

While promising, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games haven't officially confirmed Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.

The game recently gained attention for its secret pink ninja Floyd battle and community-driven unlock theories. Fans also anticipate the T-1000 guest appearance and potential unrevealed DLC, though NetherRealm hasn't made official announcements.
