Crunchyroll Releases Kardboard Kings, a Card Shop and Collector Simulator

Crunchyroll's Android app now features Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player card shop management game. Originally launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. The Kardboard Kings Experience:

Step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his card-collecting father's seaside shop and the legacy of the legendary card game, Warlock. Harry's unlikely business partner? Giuseppe, a fast-talking, deal-making cockatoo with an uncanny ability to spot a bargain.

Running the shop presents a delightful challenge: keep customers happy, or, if you're feeling daring, try a little price gouging for extra profit. The game boasts charming characters, witty dialogue, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 unique, quirky card designs, including shiny variants, add to the visual appeal.

Gameplay Details:

The core gameplay loop is simple: buy low, sell high. However, the depth comes from fluctuating card conditions, set rarities, foil finishes, and ever-changing card popularity, all impacting value.

Kardboard Kings also incorporates a roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island. Here, you'll face formidable duelists, host tournaments, throw booster pack parties, and manage inventory through clearance sales.
