How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily tasks. This guide explains how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of varying sizes.

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found within chests located throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. While initially discovered while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, these chests appear on various levels across different biomes and floors. Beware of mimic enemies—they look like chests but will attack if interacted with.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If you’re struggling to locate them, you can craft them at the Stone Refinery once built.

The Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria* allows for Essence Stone crafting. This location is introduced through a new story quest in the March 2025 update, requiring its construction within the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

Building the Stone Refinery requires:

x200 Wood
x400 Stone
x5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes. Each requires Stone and Essence, with the quantity varying depending on the size:

Tiny Essence Stone	x5 Stone x5 Essence
Small Essence Stone	x10 Stone x25 Essence
Medium Essence Stone	x20 Stone x50 Essence
Large Essence Stone	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Besides Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery crafts various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable hub for crafting supplies.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update added the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the longest charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is inserted. This rare statue is found in a hidden cave near Errol’s house (use Dragon’s Breath on the entrance). Additional statues can be crafted after unlocking the item.

Similarly, the Water Sprite Statue unlocks the sprinkler mechanic, automatically watering crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. Multiple statues can be crafted to accommodate larger farms. The statue and crafting scroll are located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse (use Dragon’s Breath on the entrance).

Expect further Essence Stone applications in future *Fields of Mistria* updates from NPC Studio.
