Camper Awaits Switch 2 at San Francisco Nintendo Store Before Opening

by Alexander May 07,2025

The Nintendo Store in San Francisco may not open its doors for another month, but it already has its first camper eagerly awaiting the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. YouTuber Super Cafe documented his journey in a video released on April 8, detailing his flight to San Francisco to camp out for both the store's opening on May 15 and the much-anticipated release of the Switch 2.

Super Cafe, who traveled over 800 miles, is set to camp out for the next two months with the goal of being the first in line on the west coast. Reflecting on his recent move, he admitted, "I've only lived in my apartment for two months. I like, just moved out. Terrible financial decision on my end. Whatever, who cares."

While the San Francisco store now has its own dedicated camper, similar to the New York store, Super Cafe emphasized his solo mission but welcomed others to join him by getting in touch. He plans to address questions about accommodations, food, showers, and other essentials in a future Q&A.

Now, with campers at both coastal Nintendo stores, it remains to be seen if this will spark a chain reaction of others lining up. Regardless, these creators show unwavering dedication.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is slated to launch on June 5, 2025. For those not willing to camp out, our guides on Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders provide useful information, though ongoing tariffs are creating some uncertainty for buyers in the United States.
