Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Developer Working on New Feature to Track Challenges

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed the feature is under development, addressing player disappointment over its absence at launch. While a release date isn't set, it's expected to arrive soon, possibly with the upcoming Season 2 update later this month.

The recent January 9th update included various bug fixes and improvements to multiplayer and Zombies modes. A key change reversed a controversial Zombies adjustment from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode after community feedback.

Challenge Tracking on the Way

Treyarch's Twitter response to a fan inquiry confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." This functionality, popular in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably missing from Black Ops 6. Its addition will significantly improve the player experience, especially for those pursuing Mastery camos. The in-game tracker will likely mirror Modern Warfare 3's functionality, providing real-time progress updates on selected challenges without needing to exit the match.

More Improvements Planned

Treyarch also announced another significant improvement in development: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This will allow players to customize their HUD for each mode individually, eliminating the need to constantly switch settings. Both the challenge tracking and separate HUD options are highly anticipated by the Black Ops 6 community.
