Android Now Hosts Blasphemous, a Pixelated Metroidvania

The critically acclaimed hack-and-slash platformer, Blasphemous, has arrived on Android! Initially released in September 2019 for PC and consoles, this grim and gorgeous Metroidvania, developed by Spanish studio The Game Kitchen, has become a massive hit.

What awaits Android players?

Blasphemous plunges you into a world consumed by darkness, where survival is a constant struggle against an inescapable fate. A significant advantage of the Android version is the inclusion of all DLC from launch. Players can enjoy the game using either a gamepad or intuitive touch controls.

The Story: A Cycle of Death and Rebirth

You play as The Penitent One, a solitary warrior trapped in an unending cycle of death and resurrection. Your quest: to break free from the devastating curse known as The Miracle. This involves confronting a world steeped in a twisted interpretation of religion and suffering. Cvstodia, the game's gothic setting, is a landscape of grotesque beauty, teeming with hidden secrets and untold mysteries. The narrative is rich and layered, rewarding exploration with multiple endings based on player choices. Cvstodia's inhabitants, tormented souls grappling with sorrow and redemption, will either aid your journey or challenge your decisions.

A Soundtrack to Match the Gloom

The game masterfully blends historical, artistic, and religious influences into its hauntingly complex narrative. The soundtrack perfectly complements the oppressive atmosphere, while intense combat and challenging boss battles provide thrilling gameplay. The Mea Culpa sword is the star of the combat system, its pixel-perfect, gore-soaked execution animations a highlight. Players can customize their character by equipping relics, rosary beads, and prayers.

Future Enhancements

Touch control customization is on the horizon, along with a full-screen option to eliminate black borders. The Android port is already impressive, and these upcoming improvements promise an even better mobile experience. Download Blasphemous now from the Google Play Store!
