Get ready for an exciting launch on June 5, as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster is set to debut exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. This highly anticipated remaster of the beloved 2012 Nintendo 3DS JRPG brings the game into the modern era with stunning HD graphics, a revamped user interface, and new features like fast-forward options for both battles and cut scenes. You can now pre-order this gem and secure your copy (check it out at Target). Dive in to discover all the enhancements and details.
Launching on June 5, this remaster is priced at $39.99 and available for pre-order at several retailers:
Surprisingly affordable, right? The price reflects the fact that the physical version comes as a "game-key card," which we'll discuss more below.
Some Nintendo Switch 2 games are available on cards that contain the full game data, but Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster uses a game-key card. These cards resemble Switch 2 cartridges but don't actually store the game data. Instead, you'll need to insert the card into your Switch 2 and download the 11GB game from the eShop.
Despite this, you can still lend the physical card to a friend or sell it. To play, however, you must insert the game-key card into your Switch 2.
Originally released on the 3DS, Bravely Default is a classic JRPG that features turn-based combat and follows a group of heroes on a quest to find four crystals. The game's standout feature is its innovative combat system, allowing players to save turns and execute multiple actions simultaneously. Additionally, it boasts a comprehensive job system that lets you customize your party members' abilities.
The HD remaster retains all these elements and introduces several new features. You can now fast-forward through battles and cut scenes, adjust encounter rates to suit your play style, and enjoy an online mode along with new minigames.
