BG3 Patch 8 Is So Big, It Needs To Be Stress Tested

Larian has released an update for the Patch 8 Stress Test, addressing numerous bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. Importantly, this update ensures that Gale correctly consumes magical items as intended. Access to this update is exclusive to those participating in the Patch 8 stress test, available on their designated consoles. Those not involved in the test will need to wait for the complete patch release to enjoy the new enhancements and content.

Key improvements in this update include ensuring containers within inventories retain their contents even when destroyed, enhancing screenshot capabilities in Photo Mode for Steam Deck users, refining pose responsiveness, improving cross-play functionality, updating the Booming Blade tooltip values, and resolving several crash issues. For a detailed rundown of all the updates, visit the official Baldur’s Gate 3 website's news section.

As one of the final major updates from Larian before moving on from the world of Faerûn, Patch 8 promises to be a substantial addition. It introduces platform cross-play, over 12 new subclasses like the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter, along with the much-anticipated Photo Mode.

Photo Mode Is As Customizable As It Can Be

While awaiting the full release of Patch 8, players can explore a detailed sneak peek video on how to maximize the potential of the upcoming Photo Mode. Larian aims for players to extract the "Absolute most out of Photo Mode from the start."

Photo Mode is highly versatile, accessible during adventures, combat, and multiplayer sessions hosted by the player. You can arrange companions and characters in various poses, with or without party members, and even add fun elements like a jumping frog to your shots. The free-moving camera enhances the ability to capture the perfect angle.

Enhance your photos further with post-processing effects, stickers, and frames. Note, however, that during dialogues and cinematic cutscenes, you're limited to adding post-process effects and cannot adjust poses.

This sneak peek is just the beginning, as Larian plans to follow up with a tips and tricks video to inspire and guide players in unleashing their inner photographers.
