Battlefield Leaks Thrill Fans; EA Yet to Respond

by Amelia May 01,2025

Despite the efforts of EA to keep details under wraps by requiring players to sign NDAs, leaks of their upcoming untitled Battlefield game have surfaced online, featuring numerous videos and screenshots from the game's closed playtesting. The leaked footage has seemingly confirmed a modern setting, as previously hinted by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other entries in the Battlefield series. A quick browse through the Battlefield subreddit reveals intense firefights, showcasing the game's signature destructible environments along with innovative new mechanics such as the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA has taken a lenient stance on these leaks, not issuing takedowns despite the breach of confidentiality agreements by the players. This approach might stem from the positive feedback the leaks have garnered, contrasting sharply with the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042. Fans have expressed their enthusiasm, with one player stating, "I am scared to say that but this game is shaping up very damn well. I hope there are no catches…" Another remarked on the improved animations compared to Battlefield 2042, and yet another praised the game's visual and auditory effects even in its pre-alpha state.

EA anticipates releasing the new Battlefield game sometime between April 2025 and March 2026. The recent official unveiling has confirmed the inclusion of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that was notably absent from Battlefield 2042 and has been warmly received by the community.
