To bypass the daily petting chore in *Fields of Mistria*, you can utilize the Animal Friends mod created by annanomoly, available on Nexus Mods. This mod not only introduces an auto-petter feature but also automates feeding your animals. To get started, you'll need to install the Mods of Mistria Installer, a crucial tool that ensures the mod functions correctly. Skipping this step will prevent the mod from activating.

Here’s how to set up the mod:

• Create a new folder named 'Mods' within your *Fields of Mistria* directory.
• Download the AnimalFriends.zip file and place it in the Mods folder.
• Extract the contents of the zip file and then either delete the original zip file or move it elsewhere.
• Launch the Mods of Mistria Installer to complete the installation of the mod.

The Animal Friends mod offers several customizable features, including an auto-feeder, friendship multiplier, and a function to prevent friendship loss. The friendship multiplier boosts the hearts your animals can gain, while the prevent friendship loss ensures that these hearts remain intact.

To customize these settings, navigate to the AnimalFriends.json file within the unzipped mod folder. This file is a simple text document where you can toggle features by changing "false" to "true". For example, to enable the auto-petter, you would modify the line to ["auto-petter": true]. Similarly, to disable a feature, switch "true" back to "false".

The friendship multiplier requires a numerical input between 1 and 100. Setting it to a higher number can expedite bonding with your animals, whereas setting it to 1 effectively disables the feature.

Upon installation, the mod comes with default settings where the auto-pet and auto-feed functions are initially inactive. However, it does increase the heart points gained from each petting session by five and automatically enables the prevent friendship loss feature.
