It's hard to imagine anyone resisting the allure of seeing Alicia Silverstone slip back into her iconic yellow and plaid ensemble. The beloved actress is set to return as Cher Horowitz in a highly anticipated sequel series for Peacock, bringing fans back into the world of *Clueless*.
Currently in development with the streamer, details about the plot remain under wraps. What we do know is that Silverstone's involvement is confirmed, and the series will continue the narrative from the original 1995 film. This project marks a fresh start, distinct from Peacock's previously planned Clueless spin-off from 2020.
The creative minds behind the series include Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original *Gossip Girl* and its reboot, who will be writing the series alongside Jordan Weiss. The trio will also executive produce, joining forces with Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are also on board to produce the series.
This isn't the first time *Clueless* has ventured onto the small screen. Following the movie's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, starring Rachel Blanchard as Cher instead of Silverstone.
Silverstone's recent reprise of her role in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten suggests her eagerness to dive back into Cher's world. It's no wonder she's excited to step back into those fashionable shoes.
