Among Us 3D, developed by Schell Games and published by Innersloth, is set to launch on May 6, 2025. This announcement came via the game's official Twitter (X) account on April 16. Originally known as Among Us VR, the game was rebranded to Among Us 3D to cater to a wider audience with its cross-play multiplayer capabilities. This week, the developers also introduced a new currency, Stardust, which offers players unprecedented flexibility due to its non-expiring nature.

Among Us 3D promises an enriched gaming experience with features such as a permanent Tag Mode introducing the Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, new and returning mini-games, and a variety of new cosmetics.

To clarify, Among Us 3D and the 2022 release, Among Us VR, are distinct games with no cross-play functionality between them. According to the FAQs on Schell Games' website, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
