Insider Daniel Richtman has stirred excitement by claiming that the next installment in the series is not only in the works but has already begun casting actors, with some scenes reportedly filmed.

Given Druckmann's earlier comments, which suggested there might not be a new *The Last of Us* game, Richtman's rumors could hold some truth. When Druckmann mentioned "no next The Last of Us", he might have been referring to a sequel already in development.
