Stellar Blade, the action-packed game developed by Shift Up and published by PlayStation, is set to receive a fully-fledged sequel. Launched in April 2024, the game was well-received, with players noting its gameplay similarities to NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Shift Up, the Korean developer behind Stellar Blade, has officially confirmed the sequel in a recent chart outlining their future plans. This chart was part of the company's latest financial results released today. The presentation slide indicates that Shift Up is looking to expand its franchises, with the Stellar Blade sequel slated to arrive before 2027.
Before the sequel hits the market, Stellar Blade is expected to undergo a "platform expansion," which is likely referring to its upcoming PC version, scheduled for release on June 11, 2025. During this development period, Shift Up will also be working on another project, Project Witches, a new multiplatform action RPG that has yet to be fully revealed.

Earlier this week, Shift Up mentioned they were addressing a PC region lock issue with Sony, which had affected the game's Steam store page in over 100 countries.
IGN's review of Stellar Blade highlighted both its strengths and weaknesses. While the game's story and characters were criticized for lacking depth, and its RPG elements, such as sidequests, were seen as poorly executed, the game's action was praised. The Sekiro-inspired combat system, along with a variety of challenging enemies and hidden treasures, were noted as significant positives that encouraged exploration.
Stellar Blade continues to be a standout title in the action game genre, and fans can look forward to more thrilling adventures in its upcoming sequel.
