Aurora Notifier is a mobile application leveraging Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver timely notifications about potential Northern Lights sightings. Users can customize alerts based on local aurora probability, Kp-index (Hp30), solar wind parameters (Bz/Bt), and evening Kp-level forecasts. The app also features a unique community aspect: users receive alerts when nearby app users report witnessing the aurora. This crowdsourced data is fueled by users uploading their own aurora sighting reports after successfully viewing the display. A premium version, available for in-app purchase, unlocks enhanced technical information, including detailed graphs of Kp-index predictions, cloud cover, solar wind parameters, and additional hidden features AuroraNotifier. This premium upgrade provides a more comprehensive and in-depth aurora-viewing experience.
