Fans eagerly awaiting the next Witcher installment will need to be patient, as CD Projekt Red confirmed the game won't arrive within the next two years. The revelation came during the studio's FY2024 earnings presentation.

The company outlined their financial targets tied to share-based incentives through 2026, explicitly stating: "While we don't anticipate releasing The Witcher 4 before 2027, these financial objectives remain our driving force."

During the presentation's Q&A session, when pressed for clarification, CFO Piotr Nielubowicz maintained the company's position: "We're not ready to announce a specific launch date. What we can confirm is that the game won't release within our current incentive program's timeframe, which concludes December 31, 2026."

Development Progresses Steadily

While the wait continues, development on the next Witcher chapter is moving forward. Last year's Q3 financial update revealed the project had entered full production, with Nielubowicz noting: "Among our current projects, Polaris (The Witcher 4) is the most advanced. We're entering the most intensive development phase, and I commend the team's dedication."

Originally announced as Project Polaris in 2022, the game received its official title during The Game Awards 2024, accompanied by a cinematic trailer. The new installment marks a transition from series protagonist Geralt of Rivia to his adoptive daughter, Ciri, now older and assuming the witcher mantle.
