Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles featuring multiple playable characters with unique weapon sets, Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers a single character who can acquire a diverse arsenal. This guide details how to obtain each weapon.

Weapon Acquisition Guide

The game starts with a sword. Additional weapons are earned by defeating specific enemy officers during missions. While all nine primary weapons are obtainable before completing Chapter 3, the exact timing depends on which officers you defeat. Here's a breakdown of my acquisition process:

• Sword: Starting weapon.
• Spear: Acquired after completing the Battle of Guangyang in Chapter 1 (requires purchase for story progression).
• Gauntlets: Earned by defeating Zhou Cang in the Battle of Guangzong, Chapter 1.
• Wheels: Defeat Zhang Ju in the Suppression of You Province, Chapter 2.
• Podao: Defeat any officer wielding this weapon during the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits, Chapter 2.
• Staff: Found within a treasure chamber accessed via a secret passage during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo, Chapter 2. Defeat the officer inside.
• Twin Pike: Defeat Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate, Chapter 2.
• Lance: Defeat an officer wielding the lance in the Battle of Xu Province. The officer's allegiance will depend on your chosen faction (Cao Cao or Liu Bei).
• Crescent Blade: Unlocked in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction; acquired before chapter completion.

A final weapon, the halberd, awaits after completing the main campaign. This powerful weapon is obtained by defeating Lu Bu in the Battle of Hulao Gate – a challenging but rewarding encounter.
