Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with Season 4 Episode 8, now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This update marks the end of new content development for the game, following its release in February 2024 and subsequent negative reception. Rocksteady announced the cessation of support on December 9, 2024, with the final patch set to be released on January 14, 2025. Despite the end of new content, the game's servers will remain online, allowing players to continue enjoying the game with friends.
The unexpected live-service model of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is believed to have contributed to its rapid decline. After just 10 months on the market, Rocksteady decided to conclude the game's development with Season 4 Episode 8. This final update, titled "Balance," introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, new Notorious weapons, and a concluding Mayhem mission against Brainiac. Additionally, the patch includes significant bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.
Players can now access Season 4 Episode 8 after a brief period of server downtime. The update also features a new medieval Elseworld setting, including The Quarry and The Arena, where players can engage in battles and explore new locations. The Libra Infamy Set introduces a high-risk, high-reward playstyle, applying stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, which increases both the damage they deal and receive.
Accompanying the Libra set are new Notorious weapons like The Silencer’s Complete Silence, Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets, and Chronos’ Equilibrium, each designed to complement the game's dynamic combat system. These weapons offer unique abilities, such as bonus damage, crowd control, and electrification effects, enhancing the gameplay experience.
While the servers will stay operational post-update, the game also supports offline play thanks to the Season 4 Episode 7 update, allowing players to enjoy the main campaign and seasonal story missions without an internet connection. For those who missed out on the game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
Explore the medieval Elseworld in Episode 8: Balance, featuring new locations like The Quarry and The Arena. Engage in battles and marvel at the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van, embodying the spirit of chivalry and honor.
The Libra Infamy Set, inspired by the DC Super-Villain obsessed with balance, applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack. This set encourages a bold and dynamic playstyle.
