Nerfs Reverted, Public Test Servers Coming in 2025

Space Marine 2 Patch Reverts Nerfs After Fan BacklashFollowing significant negative player feedback and review bombing on Steam, Saber Interactive is rolling back the "most critical" balance changes introduced in Patch 4.0. Hotfix 4.1, launching October 24th, will revert these adjustments. Game director Dmitriy Grigorenko stated that the decision to implement public test servers, anticipated for early 2025, stems directly from this community response.

The initial nerfs in Patch 4.0 aimed to increase challenge by adjusting enemy spawns, rather than boosting enemy health. However, this negatively impacted easier difficulty levels.

Space Marine 2 Patch Reverts Nerfs After Fan BacklashSpecifically, hotfix 4.1 will:

  • Revert Extremis enemy spawn rates to pre-Patch 4.0 levels on Minimal, Average, and Substantial difficulties; significantly reduce them on Ruthless.
  • Increase player armor by 10% on Ruthless difficulty.
  • Buff bots to inflict 30% more damage to bosses.
  • Substantially buff Bolt weapons across the board. Damage increases range from 5% to 20%, affecting various Bolt Rifle variants, Carbines, and the Heavy Bolter. See detailed breakdown below:

Bolt Weapon Damage Increases (Hotfix 4.1):

  • Auto Bolt Rifle: +20%
  • Bolt Rifle: +10%
  • Heavy Bolt Rifle: +15%
  • Stalker Bolt Rifle: +10%
  • Marksman Bolt Carbine: +10%
  • Instigator Bolt Carbine: +10%
  • Bolt Sniper Rifle: +12.5%
  • Bolt Carbine: +15%
  • Occulus Bolt Carbine: +15%
  • Heavy Bolter: +5% (x2)

Saber Interactive will continue monitoring player feedback post-patch to ensure the "Lethal" difficulty remains appropriately challenging.
