The Samsung 990 Evo Plus is a fantastic drive for both your gaming PC and PlayStation 5. It easily surpasses Sony's minimum speed requirements for the PS5, boasting sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,250 MB/s and 6,300 MB/s respectively. While not quite as fast as the 990 Pro, it's considerably faster than the standard 990 Evo. The key difference? This drive lacks DRAM. However, for PS5 gaming, this makes no difference. For PCs, the 990 Evo Plus utilizes HMB (host memory buffer), effectively using a negligible amount of your system RAM. Gamers won't notice a performance gap between this and the 990 Pro.

This SSD doesn't include a pre-installed heatsink. But, as a newer, single-sided design, it's power-efficient and generates less heat than older SSDs.
