While Astra Yao's in-game debut was highly anticipated following her reveal at The Game Awards 2024, leaks point towards an early surprise: a new skin. Images from the 1.5 beta, shared by leakers Donutleaker and Palito, depict Astra Yao in a striking all-white dress with puff sleeves, a significant departure from her usual attire. The inclusion of a skin so soon after her introduction is unusual. These leaks also suggest a new skin for Ellen Joe, another day-one character. This is particularly noteworthy given the absence of an Agent Story for Ellen, a feature included for other launch characters. Fans have long awaited more content focused on Ellen and her connection to the shark Thiren.

The 1.5 update will also feature the arrival of Evelyn, Astra Yao's mysterious bodyguard, and both will be S-Rank units. The main story mission is expected to center around Astra Yao's introduction. While the new skins for Astra Yao and Ellen Joe are hinted at, their release is more likely to be teased for future updates, rather than immediately available in Version 1.5.

However, the update is still packed with highly anticipated content. A skin for Nicole Demara, an A-Rank unit, is heavily rumored and could potentially be obtainable for free through a limited-time event.
