A Glimpse into Rhythm-Based Combat and Boss Battles

Ratatan, helmed by Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani and featuring music by the original Patapon composer Kemmei Adachi, has already achieved significant milestones. Its successful 2023 Kickstarter campaign surpassed its console launch stretch goal, guaranteeing a release on multiple platforms.

Closed Beta Commences February 27, 2025

Ratatan's closed beta test is scheduled to begin on February 27, 2025, as announced on their Kickstarter page. Producer Kazuto Sakajiri shared exciting updates, revealing over 100,000 Steam wishlists and positive reception to their original soundtrack demo. While the game won't be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, the team is prioritizing the closed beta, aiming for a refined demo for the June Steam Next Fest.

Sakajiri detailed the beta's scope: players can expect access to Stage 1 initially, with Stages 2 and 3 added throughout the month-long test period. He also noted that beta code distribution details, along with the exact start date and time, will be announced on their Discord and X (formerly Twitter) channels.

Ratatan is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. A specific release date is yet to be announced.
