Celebrating a decade of tactical combat, 2015's *Rainbow Six Siege* is getting a massive overhaul with *Rainbow Six Siege X*, the game's tenth-anniversary update. This isn't just DLC; Ubisoft calls it the biggest content revamp yet, promising a significantly enhanced experience for both veterans and newcomers.
Following its closed beta, Rainbow Six Siege X is slated for a full release in June 2025 on PC and consoles.
The closed beta introduced Dual Front, a thrilling new 6v6 game mode. Prepare for larger maps and intense strategic coordination as teams battle for control of multiple objectives. This mode significantly expands the scale and complexity of Rainbow Six Siege's gameplay.
Siege X isn't just about Dual Front. Expect revamped maps, a redesigned user interface, enhanced visuals, and a rebalanced matchmaking system designed to improve the experience for players of all skill levels.
Ubisoft's March 13, 2025 gameplay trailer showcased the adrenaline-pumping action of Dual Front and hinted at broader improvements to the core game, including enhanced visuals and new gameplay features. The trailer also highlighted free-to-play access for new players and rewards for existing players.
The Siege X closed beta, running from March 13th to 19th, offered select Twitch partners and their viewers a sneak peek. Viewers had the chance to earn beta access codes by watching participating streams. Note that linking your Twitch and Ubisoft Connect accounts is essential for accessing the beta. Interestingly, beta participation didn't require owning the original Rainbow Six Siege.
Ubisoft's official website provides comprehensive details on the closed beta and access methods. Currently, there are no plans for additional beta testing phases.
Ten years after its launch, Rainbow Six Siege is poised for its most ambitious evolution yet. Siege X promises to maintain the legacy of Tom Clancy's tactical shooter franchise, delivering an exciting new chapter for longtime fans and a compelling entry point for newcomers.
