Get ready for a blast from the past! HaoPlay Limited's upcoming title, Metal Slug: Awakening, is bringing the classic arcade shooter experience to mobile devices. Launching globally on July 18th, 2024, pre-registration is now open.

A Modern Revival of a Classic

Metal Slug: Awakening offers a fresh take on the beloved '90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 as Metal Slug Code: J by TiMi Studios, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally arriving after its Southeast Asia launch in late 2023.

For those unfamiliar, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, originally released in 1996 by Nazca Corporation and later expanding into a multimedia franchise. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) existed, Awakening promises enhanced features and gameplay.

This new installment stays true to its roots with classic shooter mechanics, but boasts updated graphics and innovative gameplay elements. Expect to see familiar faces and embark on new missions alongside beloved Metal Slug characters. Game modes include a World Adventure, 3-player cooperative Team-up mode, and challenging Roguelike encounters.
