Pokémon Vending Machines: A Guide for Trainers
Pokémon fans are buzzing about the appearance of Pokémon vending machines across the US! These aren't your average snack dispensers; they offer a curated selection of Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products. This guide answers your burning questions.
What are Pokémon Vending Machines?
These automated machines provide easy access to Pokémon TCG merchandise. While not budget-friendly, they offer a convenient alternative to traditional retail. The current US models, initially tested in Washington in 2017, are touch-screen operated, allowing you to browse and select items before paying with a credit card. Expect charming Pokémon animations throughout the purchasing process. Digital receipts are emailed, but returns are not accepted.

What Do They Sell?
Primarily, these machines stock Pokémon TCG products like Elite Trainer Boxes and booster packs. While stock varies, expect a mix of current and older releases. Unlike some Pokémon Center machines in Washington, these generally don't sell plushies, apparel, or video games.
Finding a Pokémon Vending Machine
The official Pokémon Center website maintains an up-to-date list of US locations. Currently, machines are concentrated in specific cities within several states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin). The website allows you to filter by state to locate nearby stores (Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Frys, Kroger, Pick ‘n Save, Safeway, Smith’s, and Tom Thumb are common partners). You can also follow the list to receive notifications of new machine installations.
