PC Details Revealed for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Version: Enhanced Features Confirmed

A new trailer showcases the impressive features coming to the PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, launching nearly a year after its PS5 debut. The PC version boasts a range of enhancements designed to take full advantage of PC hardware.

Initially a PS5 exclusive, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth quickly became a critical darling and a Game of the Year contender in 2024. Following a short PS5 exclusivity period, PC and Xbox gamers eagerly awaited its arrival. While an Xbox release remains uncertain, the January 23, 2025 PC launch is now confirmed.

Square Enix recently detailed the PC's system requirements, and this latest trailer highlights the game's graphical capabilities. Expect support for up to 4K resolution and a smooth 120fps frame rate, complemented by improved lighting and enhanced visuals. While specifics on these visual upgrades are yet to be revealed, players can anticipate a noticeable improvement. Three graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) provide customizable settings, along with an option to adjust the number of on-screen NPCs for optimized performance.

Key PC Features:

  • Mouse and keyboard support
  • DualSense controller support (with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers)
  • Up to 4K resolution and 120fps
  • Improved lighting and enhanced visuals
  • Three adjustable graphical presets: High, Medium, Low
    • NPC count adjustment
  • Nvidia DLSS support

Notably, while the DualSense controller is supported, the trailer made no mention of AMD FSR upscaling technology. This might put players using AMD graphics cards at a slight performance disadvantage.

The robust feature set should make Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth a compelling PC title. However, Square Enix's previous PS5 sales figures weren't spectacular, leaving the PC version's commercial success yet to be determined. The wait is almost over for PC gamers, and the anticipation is palpable.
