Several in-game settings adjustments may resolve the issue:

API Selection: Switch between Vulkan and DirectX 11 APIs at game launch.
V-Sync: Disable V-Sync in the graphics settings.
Multithreading: Disable multithreading in the graphics settings.

Advanced Solution (Requires Manual Steps):

If the above steps fail, a more involved solution, suggested by Steam user svzanghi, involves manipulating CPU affinity:

Launch Path of Exile 2.
Open Windows Task Manager and select the "Details" tab.
Right-click on the POE2.exe process.
Select "Set Affinity."
Uncheck the boxes for CPU 0 and CPU 1.

This method doesn't eliminate freezing entirely, but it allows for a graceful game exit via Task Manager, avoiding a full system reboot. However, this process must be repeated each time you launch the game.
