Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO by Northern Forge Studios, is hosting a unique in-game event, Terra's Legacy, to raise awareness about environmental pollution. From September 9th to 19th, players will combat pollution-themed enemies and contribute to real-world environmental cleanup.
Combating Pollution, In-Game and Out
Terra's Legacy merges virtual gameplay with real-world action. Players locate and report polluted or littered areas within Orna, which are then transformed into in-game "Gloomsites" by the developers. These Gloomsites are represented by the Murk, formidable waste-themed enemies symbolizing pollution. Defeating the Murk directly contributes to raising awareness.
Players can plant virtual trees and grow Gaia apples at these Gloomsites, mirroring real-world reforestation efforts. These apples can be used to customize characters and enhance their magical abilities, and are shareable among players. Collective participation leads to cleaner virtual and real-world environments.
