GamesIndustry.biz podcast host Chris Dring, citing developer sources, indicates that developers have been advised to not expect a launch within the current fiscal year (ending March 2025). Many hope for an April or May release, aiming for an early, rather than late, 2025 launch.

This timing might strategically avoid competition with other major releases, like the anticipated "GTA 6" in Fall 2025. Further fueling speculation, journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe hinted at a pre-August 2024 Switch 2 announcement on the O X do Controle podcast, as reported by BGR.

These predictions align with Nintendo's stated plan to announce the Switch 2 before the end of its current fiscal year (March 31, 2025). However, without official confirmation from Nintendo, these remain just rumors. Nintendo has only confirmed an announcement will happen before March 2025.
