Nintendo's Japanese release of the Alarmo alarm clock is officially delayed due to insufficient stock. Here's what we know about this postponement and the Alarmo's future.

Nintendo Japan has announced a postponement of the general retail release of the Alarmo, originally scheduled for February 2025. This delay is attributed to current production and inventory limitations. The new release date remains unannounced. There's currently no word on whether this will impact international availability, with a global launch planned for March 2025.

In the interim, a pre-order system will be implemented exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. This pre-order window opens mid-December, with shipments beginning early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date is pending.

The Nintendo Alarmo: A Popular Alarm Clock

Launched globally in October, the Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock featuring sounds from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and Ring Fit Adventure, with additional sounds promised via future updates.

Its initial popularity quickly outstripped supply, leading Nintendo to halt online orders and implement a lottery system. The Alarmo sold out completely at physical Nintendo stores in Japan and even the New York store.
