Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

by Simon Mar 29,2025

Capcom has extended the beta period for Monster Hunter Wilds following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous test. The PSN went offline around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and was restored approximately 24 hours later. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" and compensated PlayStation Plus members with an extra five days of service.

The outage prevented PlayStation gamers from accessing online games and even impacted single-player titles requiring server authentication or a constant internet connection. The second, highly anticipated beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, was cut short due to the PSN downtime. In response, Capcom has announced a 24-hour extension to the next beta session, now set to run from Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT / Friday, February 14 at 3am GMT to Monday, February 17 at 6:59pm PT / Tuesday, February 18 at 2:59am GMT.

During this extended period, participants will still be eligible for the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game, as confirmed by Capcom. Despite the previous downtime, players were able to engage with the game's challenging new adversary, Arkveld.

Monster Hunter Wilds is slated for a full release on February 28, 2025, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. For more in-depth information, check out IGN's First coverage, including the Monster Hunter Wilds Final Preview.
