Medabot Survivors brings bullet-hell action to fans of the robot role-playing series. Currently, however, it's a Japan-exclusive release for iOS and Android devices, launching February 10th.
For those unfamiliar, Medabots emerged in the wake of Pokémon's global success. While many remember Digimon, Medabots never achieved the same Western popularity. However, in Japan, it's a significant franchise. Its foray into the popular "Survivors"-style gameplay is unsurprising, given its established fanbase there. For now, though, this new title remains unavailable outside Japan.
A Survivor's Success?
While often associated with Vampire Survivors, the "Survivors" genre predates that title. Medabot Survivors' release is noteworthy, showcasing the genre's global expansion. Based on observations of the Japanese market, many excellent games remain unavailable internationally. The success of Medabot Survivors could, however, pave the way for a wider release.
