Hirabami presents a uniquely challenging boss fight in Monster Hunter Wilds. Unlike many monsters that prefer solitude, Hirabami thrives in groups, complicating your combat strategy. To manage this, equip yourself with Large Dung Pods. These invaluable tools can disperse the monsters, allowing you to tackle them individually and increase your chances of success.
Hirabami's penchant for aerial maneuvers can be particularly vexing, especially for melee weapon users. If you're wielding a ranged weapon like a Bow, you're in luck. However, if you're stuck on the ground, Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo can be your savior. Fired from your Slinger, it can ground Hirabami. If you're out of ammo, aim to sever its tail; it drops a Tail Claw Shard, which can be transformed into the necessary ammo.
The Iceshard Cliffs, Hirabami's battleground, are littered with environmental traps that can turn the tide of battle. You'll encounter Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Dropping these on Hirabami can not only stun it but also deal significant damage, giving you a critical window to attack.
The head remains the prime target for maximum damage against Hirabami. Its preference for staying airborne complicates this for melee fighters, but keep your eyes peeled for opportunities to strike at the neck when it descends. Avoid the torso; it's heavily armored and less susceptible to your attacks.
Hirabami's erratic movements make it a tricky opponent. It often resorts to biting, spitting, and diving from great heights. While these attacks are dodgeable if you watch its head, don't ignore its tail. It uses it like a hammer, capable of smashing you if you're not vigilant. Keep moving and stay alert to its full range of attacks.

Capturing Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds requires strategic patience. Reduce its health to 20% or below, signaled by a skull icon next to its icon on the mini-map. Once you've reached this point, deploy a Pitfall Trap or a Shock Trap. With the monster immobilized, swiftly use a Tranquilizer to knock it out. Timing is crucial; you have only a brief window before it escapes. Capturing Hirabami concludes the fight, granting you standard rewards, though it might limit your access to additional materials from breaking its weak points.
That’s all you need to know to conquer and capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds. Don't forget to bring Large Dung Pods or use the SOS feature to ease the battle.
