Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Sells Exceptionally

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Resurgence: Over 200,000 Copies Sold!

Released late last year, the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP remaster has reportedly exceeded 200,000 units sold, defying initial technical hurdles and censorship controversies. This sales milestone demonstrates significant player demand for the game.

Developed originally by Grasshopper Manufacture (known for the No More Heroes series), Lollipop Chainsaw is a vibrant action hack-and-slash title. Players assume the role of Juliet Starling, a chainsaw-wielding cheerleader battling zombies. While the original developer didn't handle the remaster, Dragami Games stepped in, enhancing gameplay and visuals.

Months after its September 2024 launch, Dragami Games announced the 200,000 sales mark across all platforms, including current and last-generation consoles, and PC.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Triumph: A Celebration of Sales Success

The game casts players as Juliet, a San Romero High cheerleader who uncovers her zombie-hunting heritage when her school is invaded by the undead. Fast-paced chainsaw combat against hordes of zombies and unique bosses is reminiscent of titles like Bayonetta.

The original 2012 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 achieved even greater success, selling over one million copies. The game's popularity likely stemmed from the unique collaboration between Goichi Suda and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), who contributed to the narrative.

While future DLC or sequels remain unannounced, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's success bodes well for remasters of cult classic games. This positive trend is further exemplified by the recent release of Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered across current-gen platforms.
