Lies of P DLC and Sequel Announced: A Director's Letter Reveals Exciting Details
Lies of P director Ji-Won Choi recently penned a heartfelt message to fans, offering a glimpse into the upcoming DLC and a surprising sequel announcement for the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game.
Celebrating Lies of P's first anniversary, NEOWIZ shared Choi's letter, expressing gratitude for the game's reception and revealing details about the forthcoming DLC. The development team, enduring Korea's summer heat, worked tirelessly on the expansion, driven by fan support. Choi promised the DLC would build upon the original's strengths while addressing past issues.
"Our goal for the Lies of P DLC and sequel is to refine our successes and improve where we can grow," Choi stated. "It seems simple, but mastering the fundamentals is far from easy." He also acknowledged the contributions of Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
The letter concluded with a captivating reveal: concept art and a new musical track from the DLC. The artwork depicts P in a snowy location, gazing at a lighthouse—a promising hint of the challenges ahead.
While introduced as "new," the shared musical piece, "Lisrim," was actually composed by "onoken" in 2022. However, NEOWIZ owns the rights to both the original and the new arrangement, which features a music video reminiscent of Lies of P's style.
DLC Release Date and Future Plans
NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a second-half 2024 release for the DLC, alongside other titles:
Last November, an eight-minute video showcased early concept art, revealing environments like an industrial facility and a wrecked ship. Choi assures fans that the wait will be worth it, promising to transform anticipation into delight.
The DLC is just the beginning; a full sequel is in development, ensuring continued adventures in the world of Lies of P.
