A leaked logo potentially reveals the Nintendo Switch 2's name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next console have been swirling since early 2024, when President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence. While a full unveiling is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch later this year, the official name remains unconfirmed.
Speculation about the release date intensified after Furukawa's May 2024 announcement, but Nintendo has remained tight-lipped. Although the name "Nintendo Switch 2" is widely assumed, it's not definitively confirmed. Many leaks suggest a similar design to the original Switch, hinting at a direct successor.
Comicbook.com reports a leaked logo, shared on Bluesky by Universo Nintendo's Necro Felipe. This logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring stylized Joy-Cons above "Nintendo Switch," with the only difference being a "2" next to the Joy-Cons. This strongly suggests "Nintendo Switch 2" as the official name.
Is it Really the Switch 2?
Despite the strong circumstantial evidence, confirmation remains elusive. Nintendo's history includes consoles with names vastly different from their predecessors (e.g., the Wii U). Some believe the Wii U's unconventional name hampered sales, possibly prompting a more straightforward approach with the Switch 2.
Previous leaks support Felipe's logo and name, but gamers should treat all current rumors as unverified until official confirmation. Another rumor hints at a potentially imminent reveal, fueled by recent social media activity.
