Krafton, the developer behind inZOI, is leveraging NVIDIA's Ace AI technology to create incredibly lifelike and responsive NPCs. These "Smart Zois," as they're called, will react dynamically to their environment and shape their behavior based on their individual experiences.
The NVIDIA GeForce YouTube video, "NVIDIA ACE | inZOI - Create Simulated Cities with Co-Playable Characters," showcases the Smart Zois' remarkable autonomy. When enabled, they actively participate in the city's life, pursuing their own schedules, going to work, socializing with friends, and more. Even without direct player interaction, these NPCs influence each other, creating a bustling, evolving community.
For example, a kind Smart Zoi might help others, offering food or directions. A more enthusiastic Zoi might become a devoted fan, boosting a street performer's audience. Players can use the in-game "Thought" system to understand the motivations behind these actions. Each day, Smart Zois reflect on their experiences, shaping their future behavior.
The result? A vibrant, diverse city brimming with unpredictable social interactions, creating a richly dynamic and story-driven simulation.
inZOI launches in Early Access on March 28th, 2025, on PC via Steam. Stay tuned for more in-depth articles covering everything inZOI!
