Hangry Morpeko Haunts Pokémon GO This Halloween

Pokémon GO's Halloween event is here! Niantic has unveiled the details for Part 1 (with a Part 2 to follow!), promising spooky encounters and exciting features.

The event runs from Tuesday, October 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. local time, until Monday, October 28th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

What's New?

Morpeko makes its Pokémon GO debut! This Electric/Dark-type Pokémon introduces unique battle mechanics, particularly effective against Team GO Rocket and in GO Battle League. Morpeko switches between Full Belly Mode (Aura Wheel Electric-type attack) and Hangry Mode (Aura Wheel Dark-type attack) mid-battle, depending on the Charged Attack used. Both modes boast a powerful 100-power attack and boost the user's Attack stat.

During the event, encounter rates for Morpeko are increased in the GO Battle League's premium track. Post-event, it will remain available from Rank 16 upwards, though it will still be more common in premium battles.

A Spooky Celebration!

The game features special Halloween decorations and a remix of the classic Lavender Town theme music playing nightly. Enjoy the eerie atmosphere!

A free Timed Research event focusing on Spiritomb and its 108 spirits runs from October 22nd to November 3rd. Completing tasks rewards encounters with Halloween Pokémon, including Spiritomb and Morpeko.
