Genshin Impact 5.0 Update Leaks: New Dendro DPS Character Revealed

Recent leaks surrounding Genshin Impact's upcoming 5.0 update reveal details about a new playable character. With the Fontaine storyline concluding, update 5.0 will introduce the highly anticipated Natlan region, bringing new environments, characters, weapons, and storylines. Natlan, the Pyro nation, is known for its warrior culture, reflected in its Archon, Murata, also called the God of War.

A prominent leaker, Uncle K, has shed light on a new 5-star Dendro DPS character. This character's abilities center around the Bloom and Burning elemental reactions. Bloom combines Dendro and Hydro, creating explosive Dendro Cores, while Burning, a combination of Dendro and Pyro, inflicts damage over time (DoT). This will be the first 5-star Claymore-wielding Dendro character.

Community Concerns Regarding Burning Reaction

The reliance on the Burning reaction has raised some eyebrows within the Genshin Impact community, as it's generally considered less potent than other Dendro reactions. This contrasts with the upcoming 4.8 update, which introduces the 5-star Dendro support character, Emilie. Initially designed around the Burning reaction, Emilie has reportedly received adjustments for greater versatility in team compositions.

While Natlan's Pyro Archon is confirmed for a future appearance, the 4.8 Special Program (around July 5th) may offer more details on upcoming Natlan characters. Leaks also suggest that Columbina, the Third Fatui Harbinger, will serve as the primary antagonist in the Natlan arc. Columbina is rumored to be a Cryo user with a potential release in 2025.
