Hunting for resources in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can be a rewarding, yet sometimes challenging, experience. Sharp Fangs, a crucial crafting material, are particularly sought after for early-game gear like the Chatacabra and Talioth armor sets. This guide will show you how to efficiently locate and farm these valuable items.
Your hunt for Sharp Fangs begins in the Windward Plains, accessible early in the game. Optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding" provide convenient access to this area, granting a generous 50-minute time limit. Remember to prepare with a hearty meal before embarking on your expedition!
Once in the Windward Plains, head to Area 8—the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures here have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs, the Gaijo is your prime target.
Gaijos, small crocodile-like leviathans, are usually found near or in riverbeds, often solitary. Their locations are indicated by purple diamonds on your map near water sources. These relatively weak creatures are easily dispatched, even with early-game weapons. Carving a defeated Gaijo guarantees a single Sharp Fang.
With four to five Gaijos typically spawning in the Windward Plains, and the ability to repeatedly access the area via optional quests, farming Sharp Fangs from Gaijos is a highly efficient strategy.
Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), also have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs, although it's not guaranteed. While slightly tougher than Gaijos, they still pose little threat, even early on. Hunting Talioths also conveniently allows you to progress the "The Desert is Demanding" optional quest.
