"Elden Ring Nightreign: Scalpers and Scammers Target Game"

by Finn Apr 20,2025

FromSoftware has kicked off the excitement for Elden Ring Nightreign by sending out confirmation emails for the upcoming network test. Announced via their official Twitter (X) page on January 30, 2025, fans who applied for the test are buzzing with excitement and gratitude for being selected. If you're one of the lucky ones who received the confirmation email, keep an eye out for a follow-up email on February 11, 2025, which will include a unique code to download the Network Test client on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

The registration window for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test was open from January 10 to January 20, 2025. Unfortunately, those who applied but didn't receive an email won't find additional test dates announced yet.

Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test

FromSoftware describes the network test as a "preliminary verification test" where selected testers will play a segment of the game before its full release. This test aims to verify the online systems through large-scale network load tests, ensuring the servers can handle multiple players simultaneously.

Elden Ring Nightreign Scalpers and Scammers Already on the Loose

The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test will run from February 14 to February 16, 2025, with participants able to join five 3-hour sessions:

  • Session 1: February 14th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 2: February 14th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
  • Session 3: February 15th from 11 AM to 2 PM PT
  • Session 4: February 16th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 5: February 16th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT

Scammers and Scalpers Already On The Move

Be wary of scams related to the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. There have been reports of fraudulent invites on Steam that redirect users to malicious pages, which can hack accounts and spam friend lists. Remember, FromSoftware only uses their official website and social media for test registration and confirmations, so any external links are likely unauthorized and dangerous.

Additionally, scalpers have jumped on the opportunity, listing "confirmed test codes" on buy-and-sell sites for exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, with some even up for auction. These codes won't be available until February 11, making these listings premature and likely fraudulent.

Elden Ring Nightreign was first unveiled at The Game Awards 2024 and is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. While FromSoftware has targeted a 2025 release window, an exact date has yet to be confirmed.
