The highly anticipated Space-Time Smackdown booster packs have arrived in Pokémon TCG Pocket, promising a thrilling shake-up of the meta. Unlike the smaller Mythical Island release, players face a strategic choice: Dialga packs or Palkia packs? This guide helps you navigate this exciting new addition.
The Space-Time Smackdown set offers two distinct booster packs, easily distinguished by the featured Legendary Pokémon on the pack art—Dialga or Palkia. Similar to the Genetic Apex release, each pack contains a unique selection of cards. To view the complete card list and pull rates for each pack, simply hover over the pack you're interested in and select "Offering Rates" located at the bottom left of the pack selection screen.
With 207 cards in the set, and some being pack exclusives, strategic pack selection is key. Prioritize packs containing your most coveted cards.
The optimal pack choice depends on your goals. Focus on the pack containing your favorite Pokémon, or prioritize packs featuring cards that synergize with your preferred battle strategies in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Let's examine the highlights of each:
Dialga packs boast several powerful EX cards, including Dialga EX, Yanmega EX, Gallade EX, and Darkrai EX. Players building decks around these cards should prioritize Dialga packs. Additionally, exclusive illustration rares and Trainer cards like Dawn and Volkner are only found here. Bidoof fans will also find this Pokémon exclusive to Dialga packs.
Naturally, obtaining Palkia EX requires opening Palkia packs. While featuring fewer EX cards than Dialga, this pack offers Lickilicky EX, Weavile EX, and Mismagius EX, potentially forming the foundation of unique and competitive decks. Exclusive Supporter cards like Mars and Cynthia are also found exclusively in Palkia packs.
Dialga packs offer a stronger competitive edge with numerous high-power EX cards. However, Palkia packs provide powerful Supporter cards, potentially leading to creative and less conventional deck strategies. Ultimately, prioritize the pack containing your most desired cards. Save your Pack Hourglasses and Pack Points to complete your collection!
