Delta Force pre-orders now open for Android and iOS

by Patrick Jan 18,2025

Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile launch! Sign up now on iOS and Android. However, will the controversies surrounding the PC release impact the mobile version's success?

Level Infinite, Tencent's publishing arm, is relaunching the iconic Delta Force franchise. Set for a late January 2025 release, Delta Force offers a blend of missions and modes, emphasizing tactical gameplay. This marks Tencent's significant entry into the modern military shooter market.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Delta Force is a long-standing FPS franchise predating Call of Duty. Inspired by the real-life US military special forces unit, it's known for its realistic combat, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.

Tencent's revival is ambitious. "Warfare" mode delivers large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, while "Operations" focuses on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the 2001 film "Black Hawk Down" and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also planned for 2025.

The Cheating Controversy

Despite high anticipation, Delta Force hasn't escaped controversy. Cheating, a persistent problem in online shooters, has been a major concern. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, involving restrictions on certain software and hardware for the PC version, have drawn criticism.

While the mobile platform may be less susceptible to cheating, the PC-related controversy could still affect the game's overall reception. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience might yet allow Delta Force to meet expectations.
