Valve's back from their New Year break, and the first Deadlock patch of 2025 is here—though it's a smaller update than anticipated. Following the announcement of a shift away from bi-weekly updates, many expected a substantial patch, but this one focuses on targeted adjustments.
The update primarily affects Yamato, receiving a slight nerf to damage scaling and reduced attack speed bonus on the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot have been weakened, while Alchemical Fire has undergone minor rework.

A larger patch is likely on the horizon, though predicting its arrival is currently impossible. It's worth noting that Deadlock, still in deep beta, has experienced a player base reduction recently, possibly due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals. Despite this, a consistent online player count of 7,000–19,000 remains a respectable figure. Remember, Valve has yet to reveal any release dates or monetization plans for the game.
