Deadlock, released a few months ago, has recently expanded its hero roster with six experimental characters. This article details these new heroes, their skills, weapons, and backstories.
Valve's Deadlock, a highly anticipated MOBA shooter, has consistently topped Steam's most wishlisted games since its mid-2024 launch. The latest update, significantly expanding the game, introduces six new playable heroes, currently exclusive to the Hero Sandbox mode. These heroes—Calico, Fathom (previously known as Slork), Holliday (also referred to as Astro in some skill descriptions), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker—are not yet available in standard PvP matches. While their complete kits are implemented, some skills are temporary placeholders, mirroring abilities from existing heroes (e.g., Magician's ultimate is a copy of Paradox's Paradoxical Swap).
The table below provides a preliminary overview of each hero's role and gameplay style:
Hero | Description |
---|---|
Calico | A nimble, stealthy mid-to-frontline hero specializing in flanking attacks and evasive maneuvers. |
Fathom | A close-range burst assassin designed for aggressive dives and swift eliminations of high-value targets. |
Holliday | A mid-to-long-range DPS/Assassin who excels at eliminating enemies with precise headshots and explosive weaponry. |
Magician | A tactical, long-range DPS capable of manipulating projectiles, teleporting, and swapping positions with allies and enemies. |
Viper | A mid-to-long-range burst assassin who inflicts poison damage over time and can petrify groups of enemies. |
Wrecker | A mid-to-close-range brawler who utilizes troopers and NPCs as both offensive tools and projectiles within their skill set. |
