Crusader Kings III Chapter IV: Expanding Horizons with Mongols and Asia

Paradox Interactive has unveiled its ambitious plans for Crusader Kings III in 2025, launching Chapter IV: a significant expansion focusing on Asia. This chapter introduces new mechanics and vast new regions to explore, starting with the recently released Crowns of the World cosmetic DLC. This DLC offers players six new crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, adding a touch of regal flair to their rulers.

The first major DLC, Khans of the Steppe, arrives on April 28th, placing players at the helm of the Mongol hordes. As the Great Khan, you'll lead nomadic armies, conquering lands and establishing your dominance across the steppes and beyond.

Following Khans of the Steppe, Coronations will introduce a new ceremonial mechanic, allowing players to legitimize their rule through grand coronation events. These events involve elaborate festivities, solemn oaths, and crucial decisions shaping the kingdom's future. New advisor and vassal events will also enrich political gameplay. This DLC, scheduled for release in Q3 (July-September), adds significant depth to royal succession.

The chapter culminates with All Under Heaven, a massive expansion arriving later in the year. This expansion dramatically expands the map to encompass all of East Asia, including detailed representations of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian archipelago. Players will have access to a wealth of new territories to explore and conquer.

Between DLC releases, Paradox will continue to refine the game through regular patches, addressing game systems and AI behavior. The developers actively encourage player feedback to shape future updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26th.
