How to Get I Caught a Shooting Star Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds

by Dylan Mar 18,2025

While many *Monster Hunter Rise* achievements focus on epic hunts, one celebrates the smallest creatures. This guide details how to unlock the elusive "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement.

This hidden trophy requires capturing the Sandstar, a tiny, glimmering desert mouse-like endemic life found only at night in the Windward Plains. Its nocturnal nature makes it easily missed.

To reach nightfall, use one of these methods:

Fast Travel: Repeatedly fast travel between Windward Plains locations. This works early in the game once multiple fast travel points are unlocked.

Resting: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, use Guild Points to rest at a camp and select "Nighttime."

The Sandstar is fast, even for a sprinting Palamute. Consider gathering Screamer Pods from Baunos (winged monsters in Areas 11 and 13) beforehand. These stun the Sandstar, making capture easier.

At nightfall, search the area between Areas 11 and 13. When spotted, chase the Sandstar, stun it with a Screamer Pod (if you have them), and quickly use your Capture Net. The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement and the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate will unlock.

This concludes the guide. Check out our other *Monster Hunter Rise* content, including our cutscene skip guide!
