The Boys Star Jack Quaid Says He’d Love to Be in a Bioshock Movie, as Everyone Else Says He Looks a Lot Like Max Payne in New Film Novocaine

Jack Quaid, known for his role in "The Boys," has expressed a strong desire to star in a BioShock movie, citing the iconic first-person shooter as one of his all-time favorite games. During a Reddit AMA promoting his new film, Novocaine, Quaid highlighted the game's rich lore, suggesting it would translate well into a TV or movie format. He stated, "I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of Bioshock - one of my favorite games of all time. I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."

However, the realization of a BioShock movie remains uncertain. Producer Roy Lee mentioned last year that, due to leadership changes, the project had been "reconfigured" to create a more personal film. This shift was influenced by reduced budgets from Netflix, though specific plot details remain undisclosed. Francis Lawrence, known for directing "The Hunger Games," is still set to direct this adaptation. Lee explained, "The new regime has lowered the budgets. So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."

In addition to his interest in BioShock, Quaid has been noted for his striking resemblance to the video game character Max Payne, whose likeness is based on Remedy writer Sam Lake. Fans have even drawn comparisons between Quaid's new action movie, Novocaine, and the Max Payne series. Despite the similarities, Quaid admitted he is less familiar with Max Payne but expressed interest in playing the game, noting, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."

Beyond BioShock and Max Payne, Quaid is an avid fan of FromSoftware's challenging games. In the same Reddit AMA, he shared his enthusiasm for titles like Bloodborne and Elden Ring, stating, "I'm a huge video game nerd. And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro, and now I'm going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
